John H. Lilley Release Paths
John H. Lilley Correctional Center, often shortened to JLCC, is an Oklahoma Department of Corrections male minimum-security state prison near Boley. It is not the Okfuskee County Jail. A discharge from JLCC ends ODOC prison custody under the recorded terms. Parole may place the person in the community while the balance of confinement is served under conditions. A transfer to another ODOC prison, hospital, mental-health facility, or outside jurisdiction keeps custody in force.
Geography does not shift record authority to the sheriff. The Okfuskee County Sheriff is not the custodian of JLCC discharge records merely because the prison is in the county. Search ODOC status and discharge data first. Add Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board records when parole is part of the case. If community supervision follows, the Holdenville Probation and Parole Office is the verified service office for Okfuskee County.

Confirm John H. Lilley Releases
The ODOC Offender Lookup is the correct public starting point. Accept its disclaimer, use the ordinary name search, and compare all available identity fields. The system warns that public content is abbreviated and may be incomplete or inaccurate. A matching name alone is weak evidence. Compare the ODOC number, physical description, photo, offense and court information, location, custody or supervision status, and any history shown.

- Read the exact status, location, supervision, discharge, or movement terms instead of relabeling them.

A projected release date, commonly called PRD, is an estimate. It is not proof that a person walked out on that date. ODOC policy describes projected release information as part of the lookup, while the current FAQ calls a particular inmate's release date tentative and confidential without a legitimate need. Use only the fields actually shown, and verify a past departure through later status or discharge records. Because the two official sources disagree, verify the current number in the live ODOC directory before travel or an important call.

The facility line can route operational questions, but state record requests belong with ODOC's proper records channel. ODOC Legal Services publishes Closed Records at 405-425-2691, an authorization form for incarceration or supervision records, and the discharge email osordischarges@doc.ok.gov. Protected material still requires valid authority. A public portal or an authorization form does not make all nonpublic records available to any caller.

John H. Lilley Parole Records
The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board makes parole decisions and publishes monthly dockets and later results. ODOC manages day-to-day probation and parole supervision. Find the correct monthly docket by name or ODOC number, read the hearing type and PRD, and then return for the matching results. Preserve the Board's exact result wording.
A recommendation, advancement, grant, administrative action, or other favorable label does not prove physical release from JLCC. The matter may be deferred, stricken, denied, or still await another step. Confirm a later ODOC status or discharge and, when community supervision begins, use the servicing office. John H. Lilley VINE Limits
Oklahoma VINE can report custody movements and release events supplied by participating agencies. Search a named person, compare identifiers, and read the event exactly as shown. It is useful for notification. It does not decide a court case, prove that supervision ended, or replace ODOC's discharge record.
Oklahoma also has a key parole distinction. The Pardon and Parole Board says VINE does not provide parole notification. Its Victim Notification Program is separate. PPB further states that VINE deactivates when a prisoner transfers from ODOC to a Department of Mental Health facility, then resumes only after return to ODOC. A gap during that transfer is not release evidence.
When the live VINE result conflicts with ODOC location or status, contact ODOC. Data may lag after movement. The controlling question is which agency has custody now and what the state discharge record says.
John H. Lilley Prison History
JLCC's official fact-sheet history is closely tied to Boley and Oklahoma's segregated institutional past. The site began in 1923 as a tuberculosis sanitarium for African Americans. It later became the State Training School for Negro Boys, also known as the Boley State School for Boys. Oklahoma transferred the site to ODOC in 1983 for conversion to a prison.
The official fact sheet also says John Lilley is buried near the entrance. These facts provide local context for the present facility, but they say nothing about any person's custody status or release. They should remain separate from an offender record. Historical use of the land cannot be treated as evidence about current discharge rules, visitation, or release logistics.
That separation keeps the facility account accurate and respectful. JLCC is now a state correctional center. The ODOC record, not the institution's history, confirms who moved, transferred, paroled, or discharged.
John H. Lilley Facility Facts
ODOC's 2025 fact sheet describes JLCC as a male minimum-security prison with more than 800 men on 256 acres, about one mile east of Boley. Those figures describe the institution at the fact sheet's date. They are not an annual release count, current head count, or promise that a specific unit operates in the same way today.
Minimum security does not mean county detention or automatic release. JLCC holds sentenced state prisoners. Sentence administration, credits, parole action, detainers, disciplinary changes, and other legal events can affect a projected date. Only a later status or discharge record confirms the actual outcome.
Note: Institutional scale and security level do not establish when any named person will leave state custody.
JLCC Is Not County Jail
The two active custodial facilities in Okfuskee County serve different systems. Okfuskee County Jail is operated by the sheriff and holds local arrestees, pretrial detainees, short county sentences, and people awaiting transport. JLCC is operated by ODOC and holds sentenced state prisoners. A JLCC discharge does not become a sheriff record simply because both facilities are within county lines.
The Okfuskee County Jail page uses the jail register, OSCN, VINE, and ODOC transfer check. JLCC uses statewide offender status, state discharge records, PPB results, and state supervision. Searching the wrong system can make a valid record look absent.
For every departure, ask where the person went. Community release, parole, another ODOC prison, mental-health custody, or an outside detainer each produces a different trail. A clear facility name and custodian are the first safeguards against a false release conclusion.
